How can I join groupalike?
Making an account is easier than ever!
You can install groupalike on your android or apple device and click signup to create an account. Alternatively, you can also join via the web.
How can I update my phone number?
If you have created your account using your mobile number, your number is already associated with your account. If you have created your account using your email ID, you can go to Dashboard > Profile > Edit Profile > Add phone number.
You’ll be rewarded points to update your phone number.
How can I match with people in a group?
To match in a group, click on “Groupalike” button on the dashboard in your mobile app or on the website after login. To be able to match in a group, you should:
- have people nearby who have similar interests as yours
- have sufficient points
- have discovery enabled in your profile settings
If you still have problems getting matched in a group, write to us at firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject “match:[your-subject]”.
How can I post in Local feed?
Local Feed is a dynamic collection of public posts from users who are located nearby to you. To have your posts appear publicly in Local Feed, you’ll have to set the privacy of your posts to be public when posting in a group.
How can I post in Global feed?
Global Feed is a dynamic collection of popular posts. Global feed encapsulates popular posts in an area, region, country and is algorithmically shown to users.
Your posts have to be public and continuously popular in your area to have it appear on the global feed. Global feed might significantly differ across users from different regions.
Can I create a group manually of people I like?
Yes! Go to groups > Click on the + button and fill in the details to create a manual group.
You can add people by email id or by their user id.
I can't play games or activities with group members
When you create a game or an activity all your group members get a game / activity invitation, once a minimum number of people for a game accept your invitation then you can select the members and start the game.
Availability of games and activities depends on your location, member type, and factors such as personalization.
I can not set the event time to anything less than 10 minutes
The minimum time for an event is 10 minutes, event creation wizard will not accept any time less than 10 minutes.
I do not remember my user id
You can log in with the email or phone number which you used at registration. Once logged in you can see your user id in profile > edit profile
I get a message "You have been banned"
We believe in the fair practice of usage of our platform, this means abiding by our community guidelines and being respectful to others. However, if you feel that it is a mistake on our side you can write an appeal to us and we’ll re-verify.
My app just crashed
We. at groupalike try our best to make sure users get the best experience and avoid app crashing as much as possible. If you encounter app crashing, please take a screenshot and mail us at email@example.com, and we’ll make sure the problem gets fixed, you might even get points for doing so! Alternatively,
- Make sure you have an active internet connection
- You’re using the latest version of the app
- Uninstall and re-install the app
- See if your mobile os is up to date.
I'm locked out of my account
To avoid being locked out, we suggest you add both email & number to your account. You can reset your password by generating an OTP and using it to log in.
I am unable to send messages
Don’t worry just yet, it might be a temporary issue, you can try some of the below steps to troubleshoot on your own
- Make sure you’ve enough points to message someone with whom your chat has expired
- Make sure you have a strong internet connection, try switching between wifi and mobile data
- Try uninstalling and reinstalling the app
- Try resending the message after logging back in

I am unable to see content in Local Feed
A common reason might be that there are not enough members near you, or people might not be sharing content publicly!
- Try closing the app and opening again
- Make sure you have internet

I am unable to log in
To log in, make sure you are entering the correct password. You can change your password by clicking “Forget password”
Please make sure you have an active internet connection and your app is updated to the most recent version available.
